  1. Get more data. If you only did 5 technical interviews and they all went bad, don’t jump to conclusions. Your data might be skewed. Do more interviews.
  2. Be aware of your own bias. We like to remember negative experiences more than positive ones. Abstain yourself from jumping to conclusions too fast.
  3. Expose yourself to different levels of expertise. Understand that if, for example, you are surrounded by very Senior developers you might assume that is the average level of everyone in the industry. And you must be below average. Again, get better data.
  4. Leave the comparison game behind. The idea of where I stand against others is a lose-lose game. Get rid of it and you will set yourself free to chare real mastery of your craft.
