It’s been a while, wasn’t it?

If you are wondering why I didn’t write you anything last week is because I was on vacation.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Bogdan and I also need some time off.

We’ve learned this the hard way early in our developer careers. We used to hustle and bustle until we would eventually get burned out and hate this whole writing code thing altogether.

No more!

Right now we force ourselves to take time off every 2 to 3 months. I don’t know about you, but after spending a few days away from the computer I always come back with new ideas and extra energy.

So now that we are back, we spend a few days looking at the numbers.

We checked on our students & made sure they are kicking ass our there. And we planned the future months with tons of surprises coming up for you, our subscribers :)

Yet, this reflection period made me think about a concept that has been at the core of my success as a Senior developer and that you can use right now to accelerate your growth.

That is the Japanese philosophy of “Kaizen”.

If you are not familiar with the term, Kaizen is the Japanese word for continuous improvement (in Japanese “change for better”). The difference is Kaizen focuses on reaching your greatest goals by doing small steps every single day.

I invite you to apply the Kaizen concept in your dev career right now!

Bo break your bigger goals into small incremental steps and take them one by one. Every day/week/month, check those goals and the steps you made.

"Great things are done by a series of small things brought together -Van Gogh.
