Helloouuu,
This is week 11 of 2025 and here’s what’s been going on:
1. Microsoft Ports TypeScript to Go and make it 10x more performant
This is very good news for JavaScript devs…
For starters, TypeScript is getting faster and better as a tool. Secondly it means TypeScript (and therefore JavaScript) is growing.
React has already become the go-to choice for most frontend apps.
Now more and more applications will be written in TypeScript, mainly on the backend side.
If Node.js gains the same status, we are going to see an explosion of backend apps migrating to the JS ecosystem.
All in all… More work for us!
2. The “vibe coding” spam multiplies
“Vibe coding” means you don’t code at all, just guide some LLM to do it for you. Is just a fancy term for prompt engineering, but for coding.
The same old “AI is making developers obsolete” rebranded, taking over internet forums.
The funny part?
These “vibe coders” are mostly non-developers!
Ordinary people who use AI to build their side projects with zero coding knowledge.
Reality is they built some half assed app that probably already existed! A big pile of technical debt that no professional developer in their right mind will touch.
My guess is most of those app will go nowhere!
These days users won’t pay for anything, let alone a buggy app.
Personally, I wish these “vibe coders” the best of luck, but please stop hating on real software devs just because you want to see us gone!
You might need us as soon as your up grows :)
3. We are growing, I am happy, Bogdan is overworked
Despite the crazy job market, our students are getting amazing results!
This is no miracle, it is actually very predictable.
The “job market” is not some invisible force working against you. It is other people!
Other devs who compete for the same spot as you.
Because, despite all its flaws, software dev is still a great job! It pays well (in most cases). You get paid to learn. And you get to build cool stuff.
You can also work from anywhere as long as you have a computer and internet connection.
So, of course thousands of people want this kind of job!
The job market is a competition.
So the good news si you don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be better than the other developer next to you!
This is easier than you think…
Yet most developers don't do it.
In the same way most people don’t go to the gym every week. Or eat healthy food. Or do all of the simple but proven habits that lead to a happy life.
Most developers have weak foundations.
They are also over-specialized.
They have resumes built by strangers on Reddit subs. And they have Junior level interviewing skills (which is normal if you only learn by trial and error).
So is no surprise that smart developers… With solid foundations… With the ability to deliver end-to-end. With a solid job hunting strategy, sharp interviewing and a top notch resume...
Are kicking-ass!
These people will do well in any market as long as software development exists!
(the reason Bogdan is overworked is because he is revamping the core of our training to make it even better, the best there it – but is all good cause he’s got a vacation planned soon - without me and without theSeniorDev – pure digital detox)
Ohh folks, if you are interested in the last few spots in March (or you want to pre-book a spot in April, talk to me here).
Have an amazing weekend!
Your one and only,
Dragos
