when you need it the most

Hey,

Okay so today, I will tell you an inspiring story. And some good news :)

Isn't this the coolest dev newsletter ever?

Now, back a few months ago I wasn't doing pretty well.

We were having some hard times here at theSeniorDev and I was totally exhausted.

Mentally and physically.

Which made everything worse because that's the last thing you need when things go south. I knew I need it to get off my ass and get things done.

But, I simply couldn't do it.

That's when I had a crazy idea.

One of my mentors was offering a coaching and accountability program. I felt like that was exactly what I needed at that point in time. I knew he could help me.

Of course, his services were priced accordingly. It wasn't like buying a brand-new car, but it wasn't cheap either.

So I consulted with Bogdan. He is our financial manager (on top of everything he does).

After looking at the numbers, he tells me this is not the best time. We need to wait a bit.

When things get a bit better, you will be able to sign up...

Common sense, right?

No.

It was at that moment when it occurred to me...

You don't do things when the time is right. Because it will never be the right time. You do them when you need them the most.

The best time to get help is when you need it the most.

If I fixed my mindset, goals, and vision. And if I had someone to keep me on track when get derailed, everything else would follow.

I would get back to delivering and the financial issues would be soon gone.

Can you believe it?

It turns out that the reason why I couldn't do it was the exact reason I had to do it!

So yes, I convinced Bogdan and I signed up.

It turned out to be the best decision I've made in years :) I am still working with the mentor up to these days.

Okay, that was the story.
