“I don’t have time.”
This is the most common excuse I hear from people when it comes to executing on their goals.
Not only developers.
But all kinds of people, including myself.
Most of them want something more from life. Be it a better job, getting in better shape, or better relationships.
And the worst? They know what to do to get there.
What to learn. What to read.
Who to ask.
But when it comes to actually doing those things…
They never find the time!
I had the same issue.
Even last month it took me forever to finish a project.
I don’t know what it was. Perfectionism. Procrastination. I just couldn’t get it done.
It wasn’t until one of my mentors told me...
“Yes, Dragos, but if I put a gun to your head I bet you would find the time to finish that thing.”
That was a wake-up call.
I made a list of what are the things I needed to do to finish this thing. I executed.
Two days later, I finished it!
