We turned away 3 developers last week.
They wanted in. They had the money.
Yet Bogdan and I said no.
Why?
They all came from different countries, different backgrounds… But shared one thing:
A poor attitude.
They were not looking for a mentor.
Or a system.
They were looking for a quick fix.
And they were looking for someone to "do it for them".
But here's a harsh truth about life... Which took me a long time to accept as a young (and stubborn) Junior dev:
Nobody’s coming to save you.
You have to save yourself.
Yes, you can have the best roadmap, advanced technical training, accountability, feedback.
But none of that matters, if you don’t show up and do the work.
That’s the hard part.
Not paying.
Not signing up.
But getting the actual work done.
That's what makes the difference.
