Half of 2025 is gone.

Whatever you plan to achieve this year…

You’ve got only the next 6 months to get it done.

If you are a JavaScript Dev looking to get to Senior, here are 3 things to keep in mind:

1. The only stack is the full-stack

Companies say they want a Frontend developer, but in reality they ask for full-stack skills.

Pure frontend positions are rare, don’t pay well… And are crazy competitive.

If you describer yourself as a React, Angular or Vue Developer…

Flip the script.

Learn skills across the full-stack.

(you don’t need an AWS certification, or to learn Kubernetes. But get a feeling of REST API design, authentication and a bit of database design)

2. If you can’t live code, you will struggle to get a job

AI made it impossible for companies to evaluate devs using “old” methods.

Send someone a take-home challenge – most times they will send you back some AI spaghetti code.

Which is why most technical interviews are now including a live coding round.

This is bad news for many devs.

If you suffer in live coding interviews is usually because of 2 reasons:

  1. You don’t have enough practice

  2. You don’t have a process

Both can be fixed with a good plan and consistency.

If you want Bogdan and I to help you with that, check out our Mentorship program.

3. Your margin of error is tiny

The developer market is brutally crowded.

Companies can’t recognize signal from noise.

Meaning, tiny mistakes in your resume will get you rejected. A few bad answers in a technical interview will get you rejected.

We live in a world with no second chances.

Yes, it is still possible to win. But you have to be a bit more diligent than most devs used to be.

You can’t just hope. Or get lucky any more.

My advice if you are looking for a new position is to leave nothing to chance. Keep an eye on the market and another one on your resume and skills at all time.

By the way, this July we are opening 5 new spots.

If you are sick of being told “you are not Senior enough”... We will help you fix that – or you don’t pay.

To your success,

Dragos
